This Swan was displaying, or drying its feathers on Wyken Slough, Coventry.

This was taken looking from the harbour into the heart of Barcelona. You can see the Sagrada Família church, Gaudi's famous ongoing construction project. In front of that is a statue of Columbus, pointing straight at the camera.

Northern Palm Squirrel Stand-off

These Northen, or Five Striped plam squirrels were so engrossed in their standoff, that it was easy to get near and photograph them.
They were on the walls at Golconda Fort in Hyderabad, so perhaps they were recreating old battles.

Charminaar is probably the iconic building of Hyderabad, although at the speed they are building there that may change soon.
Getting to Charminaar (from Golcanda fort) took most of rush hour, winding through narrow streets, clogged with autos, bikes, lorries and bullock carts.

One morning in Hyderabad, I went for a walk quite early, before the traffic got too bad. This consfused most of the auto drivers, who couldn't understand why I was walking when they could take me anywhere in a fraction of the time. These two were particularly persistent, and drove alongside me for a good hundred yards, all the will haggling over the price. They started at 800 rupees, and got down to 300 before finally realising that I wasn't interested at any price.

I checked afterwards, and for 300 rupees I could have got a couple of hour city tour, so it would still have been a lot for a lift back to my hotel.

After a metre of snow overnight earlier in the week, the weather finally cleared enough to see the mountains surrounding Tignes.
In the hour before darkness fell, there was still time for lots of people to ski fresh tracks down from the Aiguille Percee area

Golconda Fort, Hyderabad, India

The Golconda Fort is in the western outskirts of Hyderabad. It was built by Quli Qutub Shah in 1525, and is impressively huge. The outer wall is over 10 miles in circumference.

As well as being a bit of a tongue twister, the West African Crowned Crane is rather striking. The bright colours of the head are set off by the incredibly dark black.

Wroxham (& Hoveton) is one of the busier places to stop on the Broads, and its bridge across the River Bure means its gets plenty of road traffic too.

Wroxham broad itself is a little way downstream from the village.

This tiny frog was one of about a dozen that were crossing the path one evening as I walked away from Ensor's Pool. The frogs were no more than three cm long and I think most of the people walking past thought I was taking random photographs of the floor.
